​Mr. Serra has taught ESL, Composition and Literature at the University of Wisconsin (Migrant Outreach), Daytona State College, Bethune-Cookman University and the University of Memphis. He also helped start Embry-Riddle’s International Language Institute in 1990. Additionally, Mr. Serra worked as a federal agent for the Department of Justice – INS/Border Patrol, pilot trooper for the Florida Highway Patrol and chief court administrator for the 18th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. A flight instructor since 1991, Mr. Serra has both certified flight instructor instrument and multi-engine instrument instructor ratings. He is a contracted English Language specialist for the U.S. State Department and teaches International Civil Aviation Organization Aviation English and FAA Ground Schools to international pilots.
