I have taught apprommately 75 courses (equivalent of about 225 credit hours) at the rate of 12 credits per semester and 10 hours of office hours per week. During the past 2 years I was responsible for successfully handling the entire engineering aspects of the Engineering Physics Program that included teaching the Senior Design Courses I & II; Space Systems Engineering I & II and Introduction to Design I & II in the new EP curriculum.

I created and implemented a new minor in CAD/CAM and brought in the real-world experiences as an integral part of the design. I am the Director of the Engineering Physics Design Lab and have initiated many changes in the Design Curriculum. Laboratory improvements for which I was responsible include creating and developing a Robotics and CAD/CAM laboratory (with state-of-the-art table top robots and machines for the education/training of students) and for implementing Pro/ENGINEER Mechanical Design Automation Software (that resulted in many job opportunities for our students). An education paper Reengineering the Space Systems Desigm Curriculum is under preparation for ASEE Journal.

I am heavily involved in the ABET 2000 for our Engineering Physics Program that is highly focussed in Space. I am also investigating the implementation of the Interactive Space Mission Design concepts into the curriculum through interaction with other universities. I was primarily responsible for introducing the Engineering Fundamental Review (ES499) course for the benefit of the students in all engineering program on campus. I will be serving as a coordinator for this course.

I went into the teaching field because I was committed to being a great teacher and communicator. I work and interact with student very well and help them to be successful through guidance and mentoring. I spend enormous amounts of time with students in the design lab and in project discussions. Patience and positive attitude along with my caring abilities and being sensitive to students' concerns has consistently helped me to become a better teacher. This dedication and commitment to teaching is acknowledged by the President's Innovation Award in 1991, Faculty Appreciation Award in 1995 and very recently by the 1998 AIAA National Team Space Design Competition Award.
