I was involved in aircraft operations for about 42 years - 20 years as a pilot in the Air Force, and 22 years as a pilot for a major airline.  I have an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with Boeing 707, 720, and 737 type ratings and have over 21,000 flying hours.  My undergraduate degree is in electrical engineering from the USAF Academy, and my graduate degree is in aeronautical science from ERAU.  I co-authored both first- and second-editions of a book titled Airline Operations and Management which was also published in Japanese.  I was on the accident investigation board for a major Air Force 737 accident.  I retired from flight operations in 2019, and now pursue general aviation.
