Dr. Anssi Mattila, Principal Lecturer of Online Education at an Finnish University of Applied Sciences, is a certified teacher in Finland and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (the U.S.). He moved from industry to academia in the late ‘90s. Dr. Mattila also serves the European Commission as an Expert Evaluator.

Dr. Mattila’s current research interests include improving the quality and efficiency of online learning environments, enhancing creativity in designing online courses, and advancing online teaching skills and competences. His expertise in understanding the seamless online service interface between users and technology is a great asset also in developing online education. 

Prior to his current position, Dr. Mattila specialized in the management of information security and technical information security. He is an expert in risk management, cyber security and privacy protection. Dr. Mattila is a qualified Information Security Management Systems Lead Auditor (ISO/IEC 27001:2005) and holds various U.S. governmental National Security Agency (NSA) and Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) approved certificates in the fields of information systems security and risk analysis.

Dr. Mattila is the author of "Understanding Seamless Mobile Service Interface between Customer and Technology" and widely published throughout the top journals: i.e. International Journal of Financial Services Management; Problems and Perspectives in Management; Journal of Education, Psychology and Social Science; International Journal of Computing and Business Research; International Journal of Enterprise Computing and Business Systems. His published work in the field of public-key infrastructure (PKI) has been indexed and abstracted in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Langley Research Center administered database.
