Biography
Carol Hannahs has been teaching since starting graduate school in 1983, joining ERAU Worldwide as Adjunct Faculty in 2016. Carol has master’s degrees in both Mathematics and Education specifically in Instructional Systems Design from the University of Kentucky. She also has 48 hours towards a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Carol has just received her Associate Certified Coach (ACC) accreditation from the International Coach Federation (ICF) and enjoys blending coaching and teaching in the classroom. Carol was awarded a research grant from the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) for “Moving from individualized to collaborative problem-based learning in the Mathematics Classroom”, and is the Midwest Representative for AMATYC’s “Mathematics and its Applications to Careers” committee. Her non-academic interests include reading for fun and knowledge, gourmet cooking, bass fishing, and flying. She and her husband Phil purchased an older model Cirrus SR22 in 2016. Phil is the pilot, and Carol enjoys working the radios. Carol lives in Lexington, Kentucky and is excited about becoming a bigger part of the Embry-Riddle family.
