Biography
David Warnock-Smith is a certified course instructor with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and an adjunct professor of Aviation and Transport Management at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (U.S.) and the University of Surrey (U.K.).
He has a professional background in airport handling, rail operational planning and tourism management (accommodation). He also has over 20 years of experience as an air transport researcher, adviser, trainer and consultant. His clients have included the Caribbean Development Bank, Etihad Airways and the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO).
David works on applied aviation research projects. His current projects focus on worldwide airline ancillary revenue innovations, increasing long-distance transport connectivity for underserved regions and creating sustainable airport surface access strategies.
David holds a Ph.D. in Air Transport Economics from Cranfield University. He is a member of the Airports Council International (ACI) Economics Committee and a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (MCILT).
