Derren Kuhn

Derren holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Technology from Purdue University and a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Derren’s qualifications are further demonstrated by her FAA certifications, including her Commercial Pilot Certificate, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating, and Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with Inspection Authorization (IA) rating.

Derren’s professional journey has included roles as a Flight Instructor and Corporate Pilot. She has also put her A&P certificate and IA ratings to use maintaining a wide range of general aviation (GA) and corporate aircraft.

Her career at Embry-Riddle began in 2019 in the Aviation Maintenance Science (AMS) department, where she taught aircraft electrical systems. Over the years, she transitioned to the Aeronautical Science (AS) department, where she now teaches aircraft systems and turbine engines, continuing to share her extensive expertise with the next generation of aviation professionals.

With a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, Derren is dedicated to promoting safety, excellence, and innovation in the aviation industry.
