Biography
Dr. Ebenezer P. Gnanamanickam obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue University in December 2003 and May 2010, respectively.
Following his doctorate, he was a visiting assistant professor at Purdue University from 2010 to 2012. From September 2012-July 2013, he was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Melbourne, Mechanical Engineering, Australia.
Ebenezer P. Gnanamanickam broadly focuses on studying interactions within turbulent flows in the context of understanding basic physics, pursuing new flow control strategies and solving applied aerodynamic problems. He also works on measurement techniques with the goal of understanding these flows. He is currently advising six doctoral students and has graduated three (one co-advised) doctoral students. His research program is currently supported by grants from Air Force Office of Scientific Research (PI), National Science Foundation (PI), Army Research Office (PI) and a Navy task through the Vertical Lift Center of Excellence (co-PI). In total, in his over ten years at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) he has been the PI or co-PI in grants totaling over $3.25 million. This includes an Air Force Office Of Scientific Research Young Investigator Program (YIP) award in 2016 and two Office of Naval Research Defense University Research Instrumentation Program grants.
