​Eric LaFountain was born and raised in western Massachusetts. After receiving his B.A. in English literature from the University of Colorado-Boulder, he moved to Chicago and earned his M.A. in English literature from DePaul University. During his teaching career, Eric has taught students in many places, including Chile, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Washington state. His creative work has appeared in journals such as the Potomac Review, Jabberwock Review, Hobart, and Pleiades.
