Biography
Dr. Faisal Ahmed is a distinguished educator, researcher and data scientist with extensive experience in university-level teaching and research. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics with a specialization in Data Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, where he developed expertise in Topological Data Analysis, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Currently serving as a visiting assistant professor of Data Science and Mathematics, Dr. Ahmed is dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and mentoring students in both cutting-edge research and practical data science applications.
Proficient in advanced programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL, Dr. Ahmed specializes in machine learning techniques, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and generative AI. His research contributions include the development of models like ToFi-ML and ToFo-CNN for medical image classification, which have been recognized in leading conferences such as IEEE and ICCV. Additionally, he has a proven track record of designing impactful curricula and delivering engaging coursework in Mathematics, Data Science and Machine Learning.
