Mr. Francis Calvin Sisto, known as Mr. Cal Sisto, is an adjunct instructor in the Department of Applied Aerospace Science. Mr. Sisto holds an M.S. in Meteorology with emphasis in Climate Science and a B.S. in Meteorology from Rutgers University. He also earned a California teaching credential through studies at California State University, Fresno. He was a television (on-air) meteorologist for over 30 years with New Jersey Public Television, WLOX-TV in Biloxi, Mississippi and WPSD-TV in Paducah, Kentucky. After leaving TV, he served as a public and charter school science and math teacher in central California. He has also served as a consulting meteorologist, providing reports, depositions and expert testimony in legal proceedings involving weather events.
Mr. Sisto is keenly interested in student engagement and success and finds great satisfaction in hearing about his students' newfound interest in and excitement about weather. He is a Member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and former holder of the AMS Television Seal of Approval.
