Biography
Dr. Gordon R. Haley is an assistant professor of the practice in the Department of Management in the Worldwide College of Business.
Dr. Haley holds a DBA from Nova Southeastern University and an M.S. in Organizational Development and Analysis from Case Western University. His professional background also includes significant experience in organizational development and consulting. He worked as a consultant for Robert Half International and as the organizational development manager for Ohio Permanente Medical Group (Kaiser Permanente). He also served as a consultant/trainer for the United States Department of Personnel Management.
Dr. Haley specializes in organizational behavior, leadership and human resource management. In 2018, he joined the College of Business faculty on the Worldwide Campus in the Department of Management. His research areas include organizational resilience, leadership and employee engagement.
Dr. Haley has also presented at professional and academic conferences. At the Human Capital Analytics Conference, sponsored by the not-for-profit organization, College Board, he presented the results of a quantitative study that looked at the challenges and opportunities of the multigenerational workplace. This presentation also included a discussion of the skills the workforce is currently lacking and the ones that will be needed in the future as the workplace transforms from one that was made up primarily of traditionalists and baby boomers to one that also includes Gen Xers and millennials.
Along with colleagues from Barry University in Miami, Florida, Dr. Haley presented at the Engaged Management Scholarship Virtual Conference sponsored by Case Western Reserve University. This conference sought to build and strengthen multidisciplinary and applied research by managers and practitioner-scholars amidst the growing challenges facing both academia and practice. It explored the research question, “Do guided experiential metaphor-rich learning experiences lead to increased ethical leadership and social responsibility and improved decision-making in students as compared to traditional ethics education in university courses?”
At the Clute International Academic Conference, along with a fellow faculty member from the College of Business, he presented the findings of a study that explored the factors that cause project managers to feel fully engaged.
Dr. Haley is also an active member of the professional community. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Palm Beach County SHRM. His extensive experience in both academic and professional settings, combined with his deep understanding of organizational behavior, leadership and human resource management, underscores his commitment to fostering educational excellence and innovation in business and management.
