Dr. Hazik Mohamed is an adjunct faculty member at the Asia Campus in Singapore.

Dr. Mohamed holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Finance (Behavioral Economics) from INCEIF, Malaysia, and an M.S. in Finance from Baruch College, CUNY. Along with academic teaching, he worked as an engineer in the disk drive and semiconductor industries. He also owns a business consulting firm.

Dr. Mohamed specializes in the multidisciplinary approach to creating solutions for the industry. His expertise lies in process optimization, reduced waste and improved efficiency via technologies such as AI, blockchain and IoT devices.

As an external consultant for the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in Bangkok, Dr. Mohamed worked to improve access to finance through digital solutions for women-owned, managed or led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), supported by the Shaping Inclusive Finance Transformations (SHIFT) Innovation Fund. In the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) engagements, he was contracted to lead the work on “MSME Access to Alternative Sources of Finance within ASEAN” as well as “Green Financing in the ASEAN Start-Up and MSME ecosystem.” These assignments at the ASEAN Secretariat, funded by USAID, required him to support the greening of enterprises through the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework (ACRF) and Implementation Plan, ASEAN Framework on Circular Economy, and the ASEAN Strategic Action Plan for SME Development 2016-2025 (SAP SMED 2025).

In 2022, Dr. Mohamed joined the College of Business as an adjunct faculty member. He teaches finance courses for the Singapore campus in person as well as online for the Worldwide Campus.

With four books and over 35 publications in conferences, chapters and journals, Dr. Mohamed is widely recognized for his valuable contributions to FinTech, Islamic Finance and related subjects.

Beyond his scholarly achievements, Dr. Mohamed is an experienced professional who consults in business growth strategies for start-ups and various consulting projects. His wide interests include financial inclusion, sustainable development and new technology for disruptive socio-economic advancement.
