As a versatile, achievement-focused, and growth-oriented fire chief, with a Doctorate in

Management degree and over three decades of public service experience, my goal is to continue

functioning as a key leader within the Fire/EMS profession. My professional development

occurred over 24 ó years at an executive-level in a metropolitan fire-based EMS system, and most

recently as the 5th fire chief in the City of Charlottesville. I have conducted systems analysis,

emergency services research and process improvements in fire departments and emergency

services as a consultant.

As a fire chief, I am a proficient executive leader with comprehensive experience in strategic

planning, department credentialing/accreditation, establishing and maintaining relationships while

contributing to operational and strategic goals to support an All-Hazards Fire-based EMS systems'

mission. I am a consistent, committed, and charismatic credentialed Chief Fire Officer and Chief

EMS Officer with an inclusive team-orientation and can-do attitude who holds competencies

recognized internationally, locally, through professional credentialing and academic institutions.

My commitment is to ensure effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, consistent

evaluation of the operational framework, alignment of vision between city leadership and the

department, and driving performance excellence that generates positive outcomes for all

stakeholders.
