Istemi Ozsoy

Dr. Istemi Baris Ozsoy serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott, Arizona. With a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University, his research interests span metal additive manufacturing (3D metal printing), materials modeling, fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites, and bio-inspired device design. With a rich academic experience spanning several institutions and countries, Dr. Ozsoy has held teaching positions at universities in the United States (Clemson, Wisconsin) and Turkey (METU). His teaching portfolio encompasses a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including subjects like Introduction to Engineering, Mechanics of Materials, Finite Element Method, Theory of Elasticity/Plasticity, and Continuum Mechanics, among others.

Beyond teaching, Dr. Ozsoy has established himself as a prolific researcher, contributing to scholarly journals and presenting at conferences globally. His work has been supported by research grants, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge in mechanical engineering. Dr. Ozsoy is also actively engaged in service activities within the academic community, participating in committees and professional organizations. such as ASME and ASEE.
