Biography
Janice Amos is an assistant professor of the practice in the Department of Humanities & Communication, with service to the university beginning in 2010 as an adjunct faculty member and continuing as full-time faculty since 2022. Current roles include Interim Director of PATHWAYS, service on the Worldwide Senate and Faculty Council and participation on multiple committees across the university. A particularly meaningful part of this work is mentoring students through the COMPASS Center.
Previous teaching experience includes history courses at Florida State College at Jacksonville, Barry University, Elgin Community College and the University of Phoenix.
Beyond academia, community involvement includes volunteering to deliver food to senior citizens. Personal interests include knitting, felting, needlework and cooking. Her family travels to the Netherlands every five years to honor the end of World War II and her father’s role in the liberation of Roermond.
