Biography
Dr. Jeff Johnson is an associate professor of Aviation Safety and the program coordinator for the Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science program. With over 30 years of experience in aviation education and industry, he has spent more than 15 years teaching at various colleges and universities. His extensive flight background includes flight instruction, cargo, corporate, and regional airline operations. He also has hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance, working with general aviation, regional, and corporate aircraft. His expertise extends to airline ground instruction and, more recently, aviation maintenance education.
In addition to his aviation career, Dr. Johnson has a strong record of public service, serving eight years on a city council and one year on a county board of adjustment. As a city council member, he worked closely with the airport manager on projects ranging from AIP funding to airport marketing initiatives. He is also an inventor and holds a U.S. patent.
