Dr. Jeremy Courtney is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Human Factors, Safety, and Social Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Grand Canyon University, a Master’s degree in Behavioral Science from Cameron University, and a Juris Master from Liberty University School of Law.

Before his academic career, Dr. Courtney worked in adult rehabilitation and corrections as a master's level counselor and clinical supervisor. His background includes counseling, education, and life-skill services for adults in the correctional setting. His published research has examined the impact of various prison education programs on inmate behavior.

Dr. Courtney enjoys working with students, often involving research committee work focused on adult rehabilitation, human factors and general non-clinical psychology topics. He has also volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol and is certified as a multi-engine private pilot and aircraft dispatcher. An Army veteran, Dr. Courtney served for seven years as an enlisted Ordnance soldier and a commissioned Field Artillery officer.

He is a member of Eagles in Service, a club that supports current and past military members in their academic and professional success. Dr. Courtney lives in Arizona, where he enjoys raising homing pigeons and Serama chickens in his free time.
