Jonathan Westberry is a faculty member at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) - Daytona Beach and Worldwide campus’ where he serves as Assistant Professor / Regional Manager for the Gaetz Aerospace Institute’s Aviation Career Academy - DB campus, and Adjunct Professor and Course Monitor / Developer for ERAU’s College of Aeronautics’ Worldwide campus. He also serves as Adjunct Professor at Everglades University’s Aviation Science Department - Orlando campus. His past education and experience consists of a Master’s of Science in Aeronautics (MSA) Dual-Specializing in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Aerospace Operations from ERAU Worldwide, and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the University of Central Florida (UCF). He has held Flight Operations Specialist roles in startup environments manufacturing sUAS for public safety, disaster response, and customs and border patrol, is a licensed 14 CFR Part 107 UAS Remote Pilot, an Unmanned Safety Institute Certified Safety Instructor, and is currently pursuing his Advanced Ground Instructor and Private Pilot certificates. His past research efforts include acting as External Communications Lead for the ERAU sUAS Consumer Guide, a reviews-focused data aggregation effort based on key performance indicators of COTS sUAS where he managed test design, operational testing and outreach initiatives. More recently he has coordinated a remote research team liaising their development and research efforts for modeling effective Distributed Online Collaborative Research in the Unmanned Systems field. Professor Westberry has contributed to AUVSI Xponential proposals, and led team analysis efforts for the FAA UAS Integration Pilot Program.
