Biography
Katy-Jan Bobseine specialized in terrorism studies and WMD nonproliferation while earning her master's degree in international policy studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, where she was a William Randolph Hearst Scholar and recipient of the Kathryn Davis Fellowship for Peace. She has taught on the subjects of intelligence studies, homeland security and criminal justice since leaving her role as a terrorism intelligence officer with the Department of Defense. She served as director of the Master of Science in Applied Intelligence program at Mercyhurst University and, later, director of the Homeland Security Studies graduate and fifth-year programs at Endicott College. She enjoys forging connections between industry and academia, and has led student analysts in completing open-source intelligence contracts with the Department of State and multiple regional companies. Her research interests include homegrown violent extremism, terrorism sentencing and international CT cooperation, countering online disinformation, and ethics in the national security field.Education
