Nathan Tenhundfeld


Dr. Nate Tenhundfeld is an associate professor of Human Factors and program chair for the Masters in Human Factors Engineering. Before joining Embry-Riddle, Nate was the AI lead, Lead Human Factors Engineer and a Tech Fellow at a defense contractor in Huntsville, Alabama. Nate's research focuses on human-machine teaming, with a particular emphasis on human-AI interactions. Nate completed his PhD in 2017 at Colorado State University and did a two-year Postdoc position at the US Air Force Academy.

During his academic career Nate has published over 50 articles/conference proceedings, received over $2.3 million in grants/contracts and has had his research featured in outlets like The New York Times and Psychology Today. 

Nate currently resides in Huntsville, Alabama, with his wife and two dogs.
