Areas of Expertise

synoptic/dynamic meteorology, applied climate, extreme precipitation, rapid cyclogenesis, extreme weather

Dr. Patrick Beaty serves as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar and Adjunct Faculty member within the Department of Applied Aviation Sciences. He earned both his Ph.D. and M.S. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Dr. Beaty’s expertise lies in synoptic and dynamic meteorology, as well as applied climate science. His current research explores how extreme heat across the Southeastern United States and adjacent waters can influence atmospheric conditions that lead to extreme precipitation events.

New to Embry-Riddle, Dr. Beaty is committed to advancing weather analysis and forecasting practices while fostering an engaging, research-driven learning environment for his students.
