Biography
Dr. Paul A. Craig is an adjunct professor in the Department of Aeronautics. Dr. Paul A. Craig earned the Master of Aerospace education in 1980 and the Doctor of Education Degree in 1998 from Tennessee State University.
Dr. Craig is a researcher in the field of scenario-based training in aviation. Dr. Craig has been the principal investigator of four NASA research projects that began with teaching pilots using scenarios in glass cockpit aircraft. He won the 2004 Wheatley Award from the University Aviation Association. The Wheatley Award is given to the nation’s most outstanding aviation educator. For his work in scenario-based flight training projects, Craig won the “Turning Goals into Reality” award from NASA in 2005. In 2014, Dr. Craig won the Sorenson Award – presented annually to the nation’s outstanding aviation researcher.
Dr. Craig is the author of 15 books on flight safety and flight training. Beyond his scholarly achievements, he is an FAA Airline Transport Pilot and a Gold Seal Flight Instructor – having won the FAA’s district Flight Instructor of the Year award twice.
