Biography
Professor Murphy brings a wide-ranging background shaped by hands-on technical expertise, leadership roles in corporate aviation and entrepreneurial experience.
After four years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard, Murphy attended Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach campus, where he earned his B.S. in Aviation Maintenance Science. He began his career with Dassault Aircraft Services as a technician and was later recruited by Pratt & Whitney Engine Services to join their International Mobile Repair Team. His success in the field led to an opportunity with AT&T’s corporate flight department, where he managed a fleet of Dassault Falcon aircraft.
During the global disruptions of 2020, Murphy pursued an MBA from Southern Methodist University. Following graduation, he was selected to lead and expand a technology startup. After successfully navigating the acquisition of a competing company, he stepped away to explore additional ventures and broaden his industry experience.
