Dr. Peter Eckart is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Applied Aerospace Science of the  College of Aviation

Dr. Eckart holds a Ph.D. in Space Engineering and an M.E. in Aerospace Engineering from Technical University of Munich. He is founder & managing director of top management consultancy Simplifier International, focusing on business strategy, product / process development, go-to-market / growth for Fortune 100 corporates, SMEs, and late-stage start-ups, esp. in Aerospace and High Tech.

Previously, he served in senior roles at unicorn start-up ZocDoc, Abdul Latif Jameel, the Government of Abu Dhabi, Dubai Holding, and McKinsey & Co. He was also an Assistant Professor in Space Engineering at the Chair of Astronautics of Technical University of Munich, and a Research Fellow at the Crew and Thermal Systems Division & Solar System Exploration Division of the NASA Johnson Space Center.

Dr. Eckart's main interests today are the commercialization of space and lunar bases. He recently advised the FAA and major global consultancies on space commercialization. In the past, he was the head of the LunarSat Project Team (European lunar microsatellite project), comprising 25 grad students from 15 countries, with USD 1m development contracts from ESA, and lectured on space engineering, satellite design, space stations, and spaceflight life support. He also lectured in professional development courses with Dr. Wiley Larson & Dr. James R. Wertz, editors of the global standard handbook on space mission design, Space Mission Analysis & Design (SMAD).
