Biography
Dr. Rachel E. Silverman (she/her) is an adjunct instructor in the Department of Humanities and Communication. Dr Silverman holds a Ph.D. (2011) in communication from the University of South Florida, an M.A. (2005) from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. (2000) from McGill University. Dr. Silverman’s teaching and research interests focus on women’s health narratives, memory and memorialization of traumatic events, and representations of gender, sexuality, and religion in popular culture. She is the author of over 15 peer-reviewed articles and 6 book chapter; she has edited two books, served as a special editor for two issues of academic journals, and is the co-founder and co-editor of Feminist Pedagogy, a journal committed to publishing intersectional and interdisciplinary teaching strategies.
