Timothy B. Holt

Dr. Holt teaches in the Applied Aviation Sciences Department.

Previously, he served a 22-year career in the United States Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. A Naval Aircrewman while on active duty, he operated on both fixed-wing (P-3 Orion) and rotary-wing (MH-60S KnightHawk) aircraft, logging over 2,500 hours as both a flight instructor and evaluator.

Dr. Holt personally developed long-range plans and programs which reduced both accidents and incidents, maximized personnel safety and minimized property loss. Proactive in every aspect of safety, took into account overall organizational accident prevention. Furthermore, authored Security Programs, Emergency Response Procedures Guides, and Internal Self-Evaluation Audits and Inspections. Provided in-depth knowledge of the airworthiness directive (AD) process, regulations and safety policies as well as both OSHA and EPA requirements which assured organizational success.

Selected to serve as the Curriculum Developer and Project Manager for the Aircrew Coordination Training course, the precursor to Crew Resource Management.

Taught Accident Investigation, The Safety Management System and Introduction to Annex 14 for Airports Council International (ACI) in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards to airport safety managers and staff located throughout the world.
