Trevor Simoneau

Trevor Simoneau joined the Aeronautical Science Department faculty in 2025. He teaches and writes about aviation legislation. He also serves as a research associate at the Boeing Center for Aviation and Aerospace Safety and is a member of the Advanced Air Mobility Research and Innovation Lab. 

Simoneau’s academic work focuses on aviation legislation, regulation, flight safety, and advanced air mobility topics. He studies the relationship between aviation safety and the law, often in the context of governing new aviation technologies. His research has appeared in the Journal of Air Law and Commerce and the International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace, among others. He was named to Aviation Week Network’s 20 Twenties Class of 2025 and, while in graduate school, was selected as Embry-Riddle’s 2023–24 student researcher of the year. He earned a master’s degree in aviation, with distinction, and a bachelor's degree in aeronautics, summa cum laude, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
