During the pandemic, Dr. Chen’s research focused more on public health emergency management, such as project “COVID-19 outbreaks in workplace settings: understanding and preventing super spreading events”, funded by Science Foundation Ireland.

Since 2021, Dr. Chen moved to Berlin, Germany to join the project “Research on open-source diabetes technology – do-it-yourself artificial pancreas systems” funded by the European Commission Horizon 2020, while remotely working as a postdoctoral researcher in University College Dublin. Most research she has been involved in are multi-national projects such as the “Supporting compliance and better occupational safety practice through leverage in market-based initiatives” funded by EU-OSHA, in collaboration with patterner institutions in Denmark, Spain and Estonia. Driven by a passion for interdisciplinary knowledge, she aims to infuse our university with valuable insights from diverse fields.
